OpenView Consultancy International was formed in April 1995 to provide Unix training
and Consultancy to companies throughout the world. OpenView Consultancy International
offer services covering networking, installation, administration, systems
integration, programming and course development. Customers currently

Work carried out by OpenView Consultancy International is normally on a short term
contract basis. Rates vary depending on the length and type of contract
agreed with the customer. OpenView Consultancy International operate entirely independently
of any hardware or software vendor currently in the marketplace and
offer clients unbiased, professional advice and services.
A major part of OpenView Consultancy International's portfolio is development of training
courses to suit individual customer requirements. This includes
areas such as customer's training needs analysis and training programs,
including the development of specific training course material.

Alan has been involved in computing since 1980 from his college days
initially working with CP/M and assembly language based systems. He
then moved into the emerging Unix marketplace in 1986, initially involved
with Sun Microsystems in Ireland.
Since then Alan has worked mainly in the System Administration, Security &
Support roles for a range of companies including a number of major hardware
and software resellers. Over the years he has become proficient in a
range of Unix flavours including SunOS, Solaris, HP-UX, SCO and Linux.
Alan's experience has also involved a large amount of systems and network
integration work encompassing Unix, Windows NT/2000/2003, and most Linux environments with specialised knowledge in
areas such as DNS, sendmail, DHCP, security, High Availability and networking.
Over the years he has gained accreditation in a number of areas and
has been an Authorised Training Instructor for Sun Microsystems since
1993, with a course portfolio ranging from Unix Introduction to Advanced
System, Network Administration, Firewall / Internet security courses
and High Availability systems.
In addition Alan was one of the first people in the UK to become a Solaris Certified Security expert. He is also Veritas Certified in Veritas Cluster and Veritas Volume Manager
Since December 2003 Alan has been exclusively involved providing a Technical Assurance role on behalf of Sun Microsystems on the worlds largest Civil IT Programme - the NHS National Program for IT in England. |
